QS World Rankings 2025: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi in ‘Top 150’ list
Quacquarelli Symonds, on 4th June, 2024, released its QS World University Rankings 2025 wherein IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi made it to the top 150 universities across the world.
While IIT Bombay secured the 118th spot, IIT Delhi got the 150th rank in the list. The third place among the Indian universities was taken by IISc Bangalore which secured the 211th rank. This was followed by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras at 222nd and 227th ranks respectively.
Other Indian institutes that made it to QS World University Rankings 2025 include IIT Kanpur at 263th rank, and the University of Delhi which secured the 328th position.
IIT Bombay secured the top spot among Indian institutes last year as well. In the World University Ranking 2024, IIT Bombay secured the rank 149, while IIT Delhi was placed at rank 197, IISc Bangalore at rank 225, and IIT Kharagpur at rank 271.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), US, secured the top rank in the list, followed by Imperial College London, UK. For the 13th consecutive year, MIT secured the top spot in the QS World Rankings list.
Oxford University and Harvard University secured ranks 3 and 4, respectively. Cambridge University has grabbed the 5th position while Stanford University got placed at 6th rank. ETH Zurich, National University of Singapore, University College London, and Caltech were placed at ranks 7, 8, 9, and 10 respectively.
The official website mentions, “This year’s ranking is the largest ever, featuring over 1,500 universities across 105 higher education systems. The United States is the most represented country or territory, with 197 ranked institutions, followed by the United Kingdom with 90 and mainland China with 71.”
