What is Form DPT 3?

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) introduced Form DPT 3 in 2019 in accordance with Section 73 of the Companies Act of 2013. To file a return on deposits received within a fiscal year, this form must be utilized by the companies.

Deposits are defined under Section 2(31) of the Companies Act as any money received by a corporation as a loan, deposit, or in any other permissible form. 

DSC and its Role in Filing Form DPT 3

According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is the digital equivalent (that is electronic format) of physical or paper certificates.

Providing DSC while filing Form DPT 3 online is a mandatory requirement. Without DSC, Form 3 of a company cannot be submitted online.

What Can be done in case of Error in DSC while Uploading Form DPT 3?

In case you receive a “DSC Verification Failed” error while submitting the DPT3 Form online, you can take the following steps (as prescribed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.)

Step 1: Make sure that DSC of all the required signatories is used in a correct manner and the signature panel has been updated.

Step 2: Once you open the upload page, press Fn+Ctrl+F5.

Step 3: Now, select the file to be uploaded. After this, you will be redirected to the payment page.
