About Digital India Internship Scheme 2025

It’s an empowering opportunity to turn knowledge into action, with the support of professionals who guide, teach, and inspire. It also encourages students to actively learn by experimenting and applying what they’ve studied in the classroom.

The initial internship period is two months, which may be extended to a maximum of three months, depending on individual performance, the Ministry’s requirements, and the intern’s availability.The internship will be offered at New Delhi.  

Interns will receive a modest stipend of ₹10,000 per month, provided their performance is found satisfactory by their assigned Supervisor or Mentor.

The stipend will be disbursed after the successful completion of the internship and upon approval of the final report by the Ministry.

Interns will receive a certificate from the Ministry once they complete their internship and submit their final report, approved by the designated authority.

Who Can Apply for Digital India Internship Scheme 2025

Eligible candidates include Indian students from recognized institutions who have obtained a minimum of 60% in their last degree or certification exam and are presently pursuing one of the following courses:

(i) For areas mentioned at Sl. No. 1 to 21 in above Table  

B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)/ Computer Science (CS)/ IT/ Electronics & Communications (EC)/ Electronics/ Electrical)  M.Sc. (CS/IT/ Electronics/ Electrical)  MCA/DOEACC ‘B’ level 

(ii) For areas mentioned at Sl. No. 22 in above Table 

 LL.B 

 (iii) For areas mentioned at Sl. No. 23 in above Table  

Bachelors in Economics and Statistics 

Note:- The students who are in the last semester or who will pass out in summer 2025 will not be eligible for the internship. Only students who are in the previous one year will be eligible.

 (iv) Possessing minimum qualifications as above shall not guarantee internship in this Ministry. Candidates having exposure in the area of intended internship with good academic background and having higher qualification, based on need shall be given preference.

How Interns Will Be Selected for Digital India Internship Scheme 2025:

1. Shortlisting and Selection: Each department or division will review applications and shortlist candidates based on the specific domain or area of interest.
2. Interview Process: If needed, interviews may be conducted—either in person or through video calls like Skype—to better understand your skills and fit. Please note that travel or accommodation expenses (TA/DA) will not be covered for in-person interviews.
3. Final List of Interns: Once the selection is complete, the names of the selected candidates will be published on the official internship portal for everyone to view.
